Welcome to the

PAPIO VALLEY PRESERVATION ASSOCIATION (PVPA)

Our mission is to preserve the soil, water, and other natural resources for the people of the Papillion Creek Watershed.

The PVPA is actively following proposed legislation that is before our Unicameral in Lincoln.  Our organization is very concerned with the recent news that the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resource District (P-MRNRD) has proposed a series of dam sites in Washington County and Douglas County.

The effects of these dam sites would be devastating to our communities. Thousands of acres of agricultural land would be lost (permanently flooded), tax base would be lost, homes and businesses would be destroyed, and residents would be forced to relocate. Most residents of the Village of Washington would be forced to relocate. The main street of the Village of Kennard would be affected as well.

If you are interested in our cause, we ask that you please make time to talk to your State Senator.  Our State Senators need to be informed of how the citizens of our state feel.  This is especially true if you are a land owner who has been or is affected by how a state agency is operating.
